I've been teaching my daughter for the last 3 years that natural hair is not bad hair, or nappy hair, or anything negative. She would never agree to wear her hair anything but pressed out or with extensions (braids or crocheted-in); however, recently I "gently" persuaded her (well little emphasis on gentle) to try wearing her hair in two strand twists. She loves the end results!!!! Now she asks me if I'll put them in her hair. I'm happy, she's happy, and I can probably get her hair to grow with this style. My hair has truly grown since deciding to transition from relaxed to natural hair and it seems to be pretty healthy. I hope I can say the same for her in a few months!
